Family Night...

The last Friday of the month is Family Night in our house. We usually forget it is coming and end up making plans at the last minute. Today was no exception, but WOW did we have a fun time. We ended up in Detroit eating at Hard Rock Cafe. The boys loved it, as did Brian and I. We sat in front of huge windows looking into the interior of the Compuware building. Music videos swirled around us on flat screen televisions mounted to every wall and parts of the ceiling. The escort was a jokester and gave us lots of toys to take home. A large waterfall with huge geometric art hanging from the ceiling encompassed our view. We took lots of pictures and ate dessert to boot! :-)

After dinner we walked around the building to view the art and realized that we could hop onto the People Mover from that building...so we did! It's the neatest little Tram. The little ones were cracking up as we rolled up the two flights, via the escalator. The big kids were looking at all the art pieces and also the buildings through huge windows. We arrived on the loading deck and only waited about 30 seconds before we could see the Reddest, most artsy fartsy decorated People Mover Car there was to be had. Brisan couldn't help himself.."THERE IT COMES!" I had to laugh. He had been so quiet that evening.

As we took off, Kazz was trying to be cool but every now and then I would see a little grin or widening of the eyes as we passed a specific building and went over the water. Brisan's only comment on the tram was..."This is like a subway that's way up in the air." LOL I took the most beautiful shot of the GM buildings. The city really is beautiful from certain angles. :-)

All in all, we had a heck of a good time. When the evening ended we arrived home and were pouncing out of our bus, as I asked, "Did anyone have a good time?" Vinze was ecstatic, Brise was all smiles and agreed that is was a great time....Kazz was "glad we weren't shot." It was a positive, so I'll take it!

I just can't believe my life!

I enjoyed reading about your family night. Used to live in Detroit myself years ago, before Hard Rock Cafe was there, although I've been to one in other places. Btw congratulations on the adoptions!
