LAST DAY OF OUR FAMILY 4TH OF JULY WEEKEND

During our last day of the 4th of July weekend we took the boys to the Detroit Science Center. We were surprised because it hasn't been a terribly long time since we were there last but they have made some huge changes.

The first thing we noticed was that there are now quite a few exhibits about space and NASA. There are also quite a few exhibits detailing how a vehicle is made here in Detroit and in other factories around the world.

Vinze, Daxx and Kole were especially excited to see a brand spanking new city that was made just for their ages. There was "building" after "building" sectioned off just for their hands on pleasure.

There was a veterinarian hospital, library, computers, a stage complete with background animation, props and costumes, a romper room full of balls, a toddler room full of cushy toys, a Picasso room where the kids can cut, paste, draw and create at their leisure, a hands on water area, a little kitchen and dining room.

While the littles were playing till the cows came home, Kazz and Brise roamed around the Science Center for a little while by themeselves.

They watched the electricity class and participated in the experiment where they got to touch the "orb" and light a light bulb with the electricity that flow through their bodies. After the class we caught up with them. Kazz humored me to post for a picture by an electricity exhibit. God love him, he knew I would love a funny picture so he abliged. I can't believe he's getting his driving license this month. *sigh* But I digress...

Brise found the tornado exhibit. He figured out how to make the thing work and recruited his father and brothers to help him get a tornado going. Kole kept putting his finger in the tornado to feel the wind and touch the smoke.

Here's a video of Vinze, Daxx and Kole hanging out in Kid Town. Vinze was fitting pipes together to reroute water while Daxx and Kole fiddled with the cork-screw water hauler in the middle section where they can reroute water.

Kole couldn't quite figure out how to put on the smock. Two random boy burst onto the scene reeking havoc. They rerouted the water to hit the floor and ended up pelting Vinze with balls before the day was over. Little Brats.

Little did they know that they had met their match in my little Vinnie. He grabbed the balls and beat the snot out of them, throwing the balls back faster and harder than they could whip them at him. tee hee... Yep, I do indeed let my boys take up for themselves. The Bible says turn the other cheek you know. :o)

Brian and I had fun hanging out with our crew all day. I can't remember the last time we had an entire weekend to ourselves to fill with this much fun.

From the sheer joy of having nothing to do the the fun of planning whatever we want to do all weekend long, our family had a ball. We did whatever we wanted and we absolutely loved it.
