Well, the time is almost upon us. This mother of boys is about to become a foster-mother of girls. (and maybe a boy too...who knows?)
We have, at this very moment, in our home, what has been dubbed "The Pink Room." Our son's all picked out the color together. It's pink....very, very pink.
My parents came up to visit a month or so ago. The room was painted but that was about it. I was in there, laying on the bare bed, chatting with my mother as she played on the computer when I became very queasy. The color was just too much for me to handle. It was too much pink! If I was getting queasy just laying in there a few minutes I could just imagine the affect the room would have on a little child who is going through turmoil.
So I announced to my mother that I HAVE to put something on the walls to break up all the pink going on in there. She laughed at me and we went on with our visit.
Well, lo-and-behold, my friend CALLED ME and I answered the phone. She told me that Lowes was having a wallpaper sale. They were getting rid of all those fun wall decals. Brian and I rushed over there to find that most of the decals were gone. We rummaged through what was left and found wallpaper for our kitchen and some fun circles for the Pink Room.
The result in the picture is what happens when you mix Circo bedding from Target that we found at the store on sale, a Home Depot rug, Curtains from Big Lots, Lowes Circle Decals, a hand-me-down crib and some Toy Baskets from JoAnn Fabric.
I just hope the gals who call this room theirs are a little bit princessy and a little bit funky-chic! As for our 16 year old neighbor, Joy, she's hoping we come decorate her room! LOL

Lol,
I think I went to the same Lowe's and got some dots - big tropical floral ones that will go with the Target circo bedding in browns and tans with tropical flowers I got for Calliandra's room.
Calli has said that she likes pink best but I told her we'd leave the room the way it is and if she really hated it we could change it to pink later. I think it'll bring her into her teen years better than a pink room will but we'll see.
Take care

Best wishes!!!! I hope many little/big girls will make their room in your pink room:) I think it turned out super duper cute. I once did our foster room in the same pink and then went on ebay to wallies murals and bought several of the daisy stick ups...it turned out really cute too.
I like the dots on the walls. I saw them at Lowes and thought were can I put them? Didn't come up with a good idea so they stayed at Lowes.
looks great! =)
It's called bubblegum pink. And it's why I'm glad I had a boy instead of a girl. ;) But the room does look fantastic!
I wish you many Blessings, best wishes, and prayers for being a foster Mom to girls! I am sure that they will love it! How cute that your sons call it the pink room!
Stop by my blog sometime!
That room is so cute! I love what you did. I bet there is a lot of excitement in your house right now!
