We want to build a new room addition to our home. Up or out is the question at hand. "Up" looks like crud in my opinion unless the "up" includes the entire length and width of the original home. Anything less looks, well...Wrong somehow. Out would give us room for the bigger dining area. Up would give us room for more bedrooms. What to do..What to do. Of course we all have opinions. The boys want their own room, I want to eat in the same room without sliding up and back every time another person wants to sit at the table. More on this another day...
Homeschooling has been fun this week. Brise is breezing through his daily assignments. Vinze is a trooper, learning how to write his letters and numbers. He loves to do "tally marks". Getting to the 5 with the slash makes his day. The twins are on such a routine that they seem to know when to be quiet and when letting loose is in order. I couldn't have asked for a better first week.
Kazz was accepted into the private school of our choice. We took a tour of the place this past Tuesday. While touring the school the Principal would tell us what room we were standing in of course, which is what happened when we walked through the "reading/writing" room. "English and Reading are two separate classes." She said, as Kazz groaned. "Oh, you don't care for that?" she asked, to which Kazz said something to the effect that he doesn't like that idea much. Mrs. E then caught us all off guard when she said, "hmm..you're going into the 8th grade so if you take band you would be exempt from reading, art and spanish classes because that is how the schedule fell this year." To which Kazz said, "I've always liked the drums!" So much for writing I suppose...*shaking my head* And so it is... His schedule has been changed and we now have a drummer among us. Though he's never so much as had one lesson!
To recap we are now blessed with:
1. a room decision to make
2. a homeschool schedule that is working
3. and a drummer among us.
I can't believe my life!
