"The Dangerous Book for Boys" by Hal Iggulden
This is the first book I touched near me and one
that I love. I cried as I read what I had to write in
this blog. Who knew?!
--------------------
p. 123
5th full sentence and 3 after...
"This is an extract from it, remembering those who gave their lives for their country.
The second verse is particularly poingant.
They went with songs to the battle, they
were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and
aglow,
They were staunch to the end against
odds uncounted:
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are
left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years
condemn,
At the going down of the sun and in the
morning
We will remember them."

Ahem...*sigh*
The poem is called "For the Fallen" by Laurence Binyon (1914)
I'm telling you this book is a curriculum for a 13 year old boy.

I LOVE this book. I would go so far as to say that it is a FULL curriculum for a 13yo boy. (Maybe throw in a little math--but it's even got that!)
Oh, and thanks for the compliment!:)
I do Agree!
If I get my duck in a row I may use it for one year to see how we do. The only drawback is that if we do everything in the book it will get very expensive!! LOL
The tree house alone!! Can you imagine!
But what memories!!
ducks in a row...
