I, purposely, did not talk much about politics around the kids during this election.

I don't think it's in my children's best interest to freak them out over things they cannot control.

For Example: I don't talk to them about abortion issues and what-not until they are around 13 years old. Why bring up issues that could weigh on their little minds before they even lose all their baby teeth?  Just sayin'

Frankly, I just want them to be kids while they're kids.  Is that so much to ask?

But I digress...

Last night was election night in America.  As the kids were going to bed they asked me who would win the presidential election. I told them that I voted for somebody else but Obama would probably win and sent them on their way.

I woke them up this morning with the election result.

Jaibrian's comment..."No! I do NOT like him!"

Kole's response, "I hate him!"

Their words hit me like a brick. I mean a huge brick to my heart. I don't know where these feelings came from but I hope it wasn't from this house.

We had a little pow-wow over breakfast about hate.  They now understand that President Obama is not some robot on television but a human soul.  He needs prayer, just like we need it.

If they learned nothing else from this election, I hope they learned that hate is NOT an option; That their parents do not promote it and that ugly things grow in their hearts if they let hate breed within them.

Jesus, please help and lead us all... including President Obama.
