Happy Days

This past month has been full of surprises.

Out of the clear blue....Our family was adopted by the local Harley Bikers Chapter. We're not talking about the scary Hell's Angels kind of bikers. We're talking CEO's of banks, riding for the fun of it because we have the money to do it, kind of bikers. They raised $36,000 and decided to adopt 5 foster families this year and buy Christmas presents, clothes, household items etc...for them. We were picked out of all the families! What a total blessing. When I got the telephone call I thought they were going to ask us to help with the event! LOL We are so excited we can't stand it! This Saturday is the big day....I still can't believe it. :-)

Out of the clear blue...A friend of Brian's gave us bunk beds for the twins. How cool is that?! A very nice set with dressers and a desk attached.
Out of the clear blue....Another friend brought over bags of clothes and some cool games for the boys. We are feeling showered with friendship and love these days.

For the longest time, Brian and I weren't the type of people to go out and have fun without the kids. We would gather them up, take them with us and all was well with the world. We still do that...but...we've also found the wonderful joy of alone time! We actually go out with one another, adult friends and family quite often. It's a brave new world for us. Coffee houses, dinner nights, movie nights, parent club meetings and hanging out at home playing games with other families...what is going on? We've never had so much fun. Why didn't we do this stuff before?! Oh yeah, I remember...the kids were too young. But now, my friends, they have grown...grown into BABYSITTERS!! ha ha ha hee hee Do I sound happy? I am!

We are like...Happy these days. You know, the kind of happy that allows us to wake up, smile and breathe a sigh of contentment that can only be because life is so good. The kind of happy that says...

"I can't believe my life!"
