IT'S OFFICIAL...DAXX IS OUR CHALLENGE... HANDS DOWN.

He set off the fire alarm yesterday!

I want to preface this post by saying that I do watch my child, I promise. I just can't watch him every second of every day. I do occasionally fold clothes and go to the bathroom. It is at just such a time that he decides to do "that thing" that he knows he can't get away with in front of me.

Yesterday he actually managed to create small little flames and LOTS of smoke.

Have YOUR children ever put a pop-tart in a toaster...with the wrapping still on?
The fire will make pretty smoke marks on your white toaster and the "melting stuff" will
ruin the interior.

That is charred wrapping on the plate....well, what is left of the wrapping anyway...

you know...

AFTER THE FIRE!!

Well, now I have an excuse to buy an 8 slice toaster. :-)

My two youngest children decided to "fix" my sewing machine while I was in the shower once. They first poured all the sewing machine oil down the top of it (this was not actually that big a deal--it was a tiny bottle), but then, in an effort to hide their misdeed and "clean it up", they poured a 16 oz cup of water down it, too. My sewing machine is computerized. Need I say more? Nicky (3 at the time) told me that it made some wierd noises and then the light bulb blew. My mother-in-law (who is usually a really great gal) said that I shouldn't leave my sewing machine sitting around where the kids can get to it.
Thankfully, after all that, someone suggested that I wait until my sewing machine was completely dried out to try to use it again. Unfortunately, the reason my sewing machine was out where the kids could get it is because I was sewing something for an auction and it HAD to get finished. So, hubby went and bought me a cheap machine and I used it to finish the quilt. But, 6 months later, I tried out my good machine and Yay! It works!

Oh My Gosh!!

I'm so glad you were able to use it later.

We just can't know everything they will want to fiddle with can we?

I would have to live in a home with nothing inside to keep them from getting into things. Of course then they would skate around the floors and I'm sure they'd find a way to mess it up! LOL

Shelly! Your toaster story reminds me that I need to buy a new toaster. What happened to my old one??? Silas decided that he wanted toast with peanut butter. Do you see where this is heading? I guess no one told him you had to toast the bread BEFORE putting the peanut butter on! I love my kids.

LOL! Hahaha!

Yes! I have had this happen, only it was a Bob the Builder plastic figurine. Or should I say, "dis"figurine? They actually tried to play with it a couple of times afterwards, but it was too reminiscent of a burn victim. Toaster was...well, toast.
