FAREWELL "OLD" FRIEND

This is our Love Seat. I bought it at an estate sale for $25.

Why? 5 sons/3 dogs...

on with my story...
I really liked our "new" Love Seat because it fit nicely in our living room. It was very clean, and gave me that old time grandma feeling every time I looked at it. I was raised in small towns in Ohio and Kentucky. The "country grandma" feeling relaxes me, just so you know.

You notice, I'm sure, that I'm using past tense as I write.

I woke up a couple of weeks ago feeling pretty good. I slept well and was ready to start my day. I walked out of my bedroom, turned left, looked down our hallway into our living room and wondered,

"What in the world is that in the floor?"

As my blurry eyes began to focus I realized that is was furniture stuffing.

*sob*
I know what you are thinking...

DAXX...

But no, not this time. This time it was our precious new puppies. Somewhere in the arm of our "new" love seat there was a smell that caught their attention. They really, really liked the smell. They liked it so much that they decided to find out what that smell looked like. They dug and dug. Apparently they found it because the rest of the Love Seat and cushions were fine and dandy, just waiting to be sat upon.

This is my Love Seat. It was laid to rest on the curb, in front of our home. It had a good life. We did not have it long but it was used well in that time. Someone came by and picked it up silently in the night. Our parting wish is that it found the home of an upholsterer...with no dogs.

We will miss you dear Love Seat.
Farewell good friend...farewell...

I know the feeling of losing something that you love and lose it so suddenly. Imagine, you went to bed expecting that everything remains the same the next day and then, that sight!

Anyway, I sure hope it got replaced with something more relaxing and suitable to the space it should occupy.

Thanks for visiting my site!
