Now, don't get me wrong. I love being a mom to a large brood but I also know that I need to maintain some semblance of sanity. In order to keep mine I resort to staying up to the wee hours of the morning...to listen to the sweet, sweet sound of silence.
Honestly, it comes naturally to me so why not? I couldn't think of any reason not to. I mean, the kids are old enough to get up and turn on the television in the morning. We are past the time of worrying about them swallowing things they find on the floor or rummaging through the toilet water.
It's just that the twins are almost 5 years old. I'm not quite comfortable allowing them to roam the house without an awake parent but they are very quiet in the morning! I never know when they have actually gotten up. For some reason they choose the morning to become quiet, little ninjas!
If I knew they were up I would be up, even if nodding off in the chair, but they don't make a peep! They turn on Sponge Bob in the living room and sit on the plush chairs while they get their tired eyes awake, and truth be told, they have been fine watching Sponge Bob while sitting in the living room. I haven't actually felt the need to set my alarm clock for 6:00 AM!
Our little system is such that I find out they are up when they come into my room in the morning (after Sponge Bob is off) to wake me up so I can make them some breakfast.
Hey! We have a system and I like it!
Little did I know that our sweet little boys had a system also. For the past few months I've noticed odd photos showing up on my digital camera. There would be one here and there that just seemed completely out of place. It may be a picture of the floor, or the grass or our car or our garage but it was always something from our house so I just assumed that I fiddled when I should have faddled.
This week, however, I got to see frame by frame what had been happening in the morning.
Our 4 year old sons had been opening my office door, grabbing the camera and taking a picture here and there. The camera would always be where it was supposed to be so who knew!?
The first picture is of Daxx grabbing things out of my desk. The second is of Kole pretending to pick his nose. The third one is on Kole pretending to eat a booger.
The fourth one is of Kole pretending to be sick from the booger. The fifth one is of Daxx just hanging out and they go on from there.
I think they feel pretty proud of themselves. Just know that I spared you the one of Kole mooning the world...very proudly I might add.
Yep, I think I have to start getting up earlier.

I like the finger up the nose one the best. Just saying. They are quite handsome too. Have a great day. :)
tee hee.
they're so cute!! ;-)
LOL! They must be little hams :) How fun to have a partner in crime - must be a twin bonus, maybe not for mom.
I'd be setting the alarm. Just add some pink!

Hi there, I have been reading your blog for some time but this is my first time posting. We homeschool our 12 and 8 year old sons so it is nice to read and learn that there are families like ours out there...not the homeschooling part but choosing to live a more laid back lifestyle.
Your twins are adorable...I see a lot of similarities between them and my 8 year old! LOL!
HUGS!
Oh you have your hands full! And so much fun....most of the time! Right? :)

I tagged you today, but don't feel obligated to do it if you don't have time. I just had to pick 6 blogs :)
Perhaps a digital camera for Christmas? LOL
