Wednesday Wrap-Up

Jen B, A very good friend of mine, participates in a blog "meme" that I find interesting.  She basically gives a nice little synopsis of her day/week by finishing a few short phrases.  I like her answers so much that I am copying her little meme so that I can have weekly family snap-shots for this blog.

This blog IS our family scrapbook.  I don't buy wavey scissors and stickers... I Type.

Each year I buy the hard-cover book of these blog posts. The kids get a kick out of reading the books and I hope they serve as family memory albums when I'm dead as a doornail.  So, without further adieu...here is the first installment of our Weekly Wrap-Up.

-----

Outside my window...I see sleet and hear Kole "whoop whooping" while riding his bike in the cold weather.

I am thinking... that life is so short.  The Bluers lost everything they own in a fire on Friday.  It's weighing on my mind.  My Grandma Bannister died two weeks ago and I feel sad that my dad is hurting.  I wish I could be a little girl for a moment and lay in my dad's arms and let him rock me to sleep.  Life was so much simpler when daddy could hold me and keep me safe.

I am thankful for...my husband. He is my backbone.  He makes me stronger.  His presence calms my storm.

From the kitchen... I smell sausage spaghetti sauce that's simmering in the crock-pot.

I am wearing... Jeans, Tennis Shoes with my orthopedics, no bra and a t-shirt.

I am creating... a family journal in the hope that somehow my kids will realize that even though I wasn't perfect, I did love them very much and hope they are happy in whatever they choose for their lives.

I am going... out with Brian this Friday. We're going to paint Detroit Red.

I am reading...nothing at all.  I haven't started a new book and I don't have any on deck to start.  I should get around to that soon.

I am hoping... to camp a lot this summer with the kids.  If we can swing buying a deck and golf cart I'll feel like a truly spoiled camping momma.

I am hearing...Enya playing from my stereo, cartoon network blaring from the TV and Daxx whining.  The kids came in, the phone rang and time passed since question number 1 was answered.  Now I hear the kids, whining, cartoons blaring and Vinze loading the dishwasher.

Around the house...there is a wide range of items spilling over the bench by the front door.  They are items that will be taken, tomorrow, to the new drop spot arranged for the Bluer family.

One of my favorite things...Enya. Their music is peaceful.

The pictures I am sharing are...  My Grandpa Lee and Grandma Helen Bannister, My dad, Glenn, holding me, and the last picture is my Mom, Nova, with my dad.  The picture is from last year on the Detroit Princess when they were chaperons for the Michigan Homeschool Prom that I planned.

How fun that each year you buy the hard-cover book of your blog posts. How do you do that?
